This is a little history about me, and my love of dogs. My name is Gayle Myers and I am an import to Alberta
from Ontario. I have been living in Alberta for twelve years. All my life I have owned a dog or dogs. Mostly
I have had rescue dogs and given them a loving home with our family. I have two adult sons that both have great families
and dogs.
When I turned 50 whoops!!! I said it. I moved to Cold Lake, Alberta, from St. Catharines, Ontario, to
be close to my sons and be grandma to my grandsons. When I moved here I left a very dear friend behind. Her name
is Susie, but her given name is Assunta. I named my kennel after her so I will always have her near and dear to my heart,
as I will always have dogs.
When I arrived I had two rescue dogs A Samoyed/shepherd X Nikko, and a border collie/shepherd X Gizmo. Moving
to Alberta and living in a rural area it gave them lots of room to run and play.
Then I met my husband and got married, we are now both retired and living on a farm with horses, cows, chickens,
and rabbits. Just like the Beverly Hillbillies- lots of animals and lots of room to roam.
My son Len had bought his boys a Samoyed puppy, who could resist a little white fluffy puppy? You guessed
it; I was off and purchased my first registered dog. Snowydown's Assunta's Blaze. Not knowing many people
or the province of Alberta, I decided to join the local dog club, as we all know dog people are GREAT people.
This began my world into the dog show ring. It gave me a good chance to meet and travel with nice people and see the
province. I put a Championship on her (Blaze) then later bred her. She had six adorable puppies, then
I found out I would have a hard time separating from the puppies. So she never had another litter. We lost her
last year to diabetes, but she is still in our hearts and memories. We still have one of her puppies Assuntas Princess
Blaze Niatim. Who finished in two weekends and then took a Best Puppy in Show.
As I matured I developed arthritis and found it to hard to groom the Samoyeds. Looking for a smaller breed that
was easier to groom, I fell in love with a little powder puff Chinese Crested that looked like she was running into wind as
she did her proud little trot. That was it; I had to have one, which then came Ch Rujha's snow silk, (Silken).
At a dog show Martine from Crestars befriended me and she has been my mentor in the Chinese Crested breed. Well I
then fell in love with Ch Crestars Frosty Blizzard CD (Blizzard) anyone that has a puff boy knows what a lovely little
dog they are. Now I had two white powder puffs ( I guess I just could not get away from the white, even our cat is white)
The more I was around the breed and the more I was at Martine's I just had to have a little hairless girl, hence came Ch Crestar
Xzuberance (Zubee). Which is attached to my husband at the hip.
So far that is as far as I have gone, looking forward to a breeding with Zubee, if so it will be posted on my
website. Now that I have bored you, take a minute and browse through my site and see my little munkins. You might
even see a sammy or two while you are there. Please sign my guest book and thank you for stopping by.
